Review of the Euro-Pro Shark Navigator Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaners

The Euro-Pro Shark Navigator includes models NV 22T, NV22L, NV 22TGR-FS. These model numbers vary according to the year they were produced and what tools come standard with each model.

One of the unique features of the Shark includes what they call “Infinity Technology”. This uses 21 cyclones which not only gives it power, but prevents clogging.

The Shark Navigator is priced from about $92 from on line retailers to $199 from Euro-Pro. If purchasing from Euro-Pro, you will get a 5 year warranty that includes belts and filters. If you purchase elsewhere you will want to verify the warranty.

Shark Navigator Features:

  • Unique dual motor system
  • Bagless with washable filter
  • Brush roll shut off switch
  • Lightweight with Easy glide wheels
  • Powered pet hair tool
  • Lifetime belts and filters

Unique Infinity Technology:

The Shark Navigator is designed with “Infinity Technology”. What this means is that while other vacuums will clog at the filter or bag, the Shark’s suction power will remain stable even when you’re at the last room to vacuum. The reason behind this technology is that Shark uses twenty-one cyclones that never clog or lose suction even when the dirt cup is at full capacity; now that’s impressive.

Lightweight and Maneuverable:

This vacuum only weighs 15 pounds making it easy to take up stairs or move around the house. It also is designed with smooth glide wheels that allow it to turn sharply and effortlessly on both carpet and hard floor surfaces. Maybe that’s why they named it the “Navigator”.

Lifetime Belts and Filters:

I love this feature. No more replacement costs ever, well at least not for 5 years! These parts last the life of the product and are covered under normal use for the 5-year warranty. If your machine lasts for longer, than the belts and filters are all covered until your machine bites the dust.

Shark Navigator Recommendations:

Mrs. Clean recommends the Euro-Pro Shark Navigator Vacuum. It is reasonably priced, comes with one of the best warranties (5 years), has no replacement costs, and provides plenty of lasting suction. It comes with ample tools to reach from ceiling to floors and also included is a powered pet brush for furniture. It also has the ability to turn off the brush bar when vacuuming hardwoods; which is a real plus. This vacuum is easy to use and moves around without much effort. This vacuum performs excellent and you can’t beat its price.

Pros:

This is a reasonably priced vacuum with a longer warranty than most; a 5 year warranty.

The Navigator has plenty of sustained suction. Owners say that the Shark has more suction than their Dyson or Kirby that they’ve replaced. They used their Dyson or Kirby, then went over with the Navigator and were amazed at how full the dust cup was. Keep in mind that the Navigator is just a fraction of the price of other brands.

The Shark Navigator maneuvers easily, is light weight and quiet. You can vacuum without chasing away pets, waking the baby or disturbing neighbors.

You can turn the brush roll on an off without having to stop the machine, this means less down time and less wear and tear on the motor. The powered pet hair brush easily and efficiently eliminates pet hair on furniture.

Cons:

Dust container could be larger; it has a 2.4 qt capacity. The hose is a bit stiff and takes time to get used to.

This machine is built well and reliable, but, if you do have an issue it can be hard to get the warranty work done. I would suggest buying from a store that has an excellent return policy. Word has it that Bed, Bath and Beyond will take anything back if you have a) the original receipt and b) the original box. I definitely think it is worth it to save both and be able to return this item to the store versus trying to go through the manufacturer.

There were some complaints about the exhaust in the front of the machine blowing dust bunnies away from the machine on hard surface floors. Some people love the machine so much that they actually made a “muffler” for the machine to blow the exhaust upwards. Most people did not have an issue, so it may be the angle that people are vacuuming at. This does seem to be an issue if you put the vacuum in the upright locked position on a hard surface floor. Not a purchasing deterrent for most, nor is it an issue for most owners.

Review of the Hoover WindTunnel Bagless Canister Vacuum Cleaner

The Hoover WindTunnel offer excellent cleaning performance in an easy to maneuver canister model. Both feature the patented WindTunnel technology which will provide great suction on both hard surfaces and deep pile carpet.

These Hoover WindTunnel models are bagless, feature larger wheels that allow you to move from linoleum to carpet easily and has the speed control right at your fingertips It has a 15 inch cleaning nozzle that is low profile, great for reaching under objects that are too heavy to move.

The S3755 is priced around $199 to $286 from on line retailers and $229 directly from Hoover. The S3765-040 ranges from $229 to $269 from on line retailers and $299 when purchased directly from Hoover. Both models have a full 1 year warranty.

Hoover Windtunnel Bagless Canister Features:

  • Hoover’s patented windTunnel technology
  • Bagless cyclonic technology
  • Low profile 15” nozzle
  • HEPA filteration
  • 25’ auto rewind cord
  • Telescoping chrome wands

WindTunnel Technology:

Powerful suction will pick up dust and dirt and deposit it directly into the dirt container. This design, along with the filter, means that the air coming from the exhaust is clean. You will not have dust scattered and floating around the room every time you vacuum.

Auto Rewind Cord:

Both the WindTunnel models S3755 and S3765040 have a 25 foot auto rewind cord. This is a great feature because winding a 25 foot cord by hand is really a hassle not to mention when it comes unraveled in the closet. This will not happen with these canisters. You just step on a pedal and the cord retracts into the machine, neat and out of site; how easy is that?

Telescoping Chrome Wands:

These canisters have lightweight yet sturdy telescoping wands. The wand allows you to reach ceilings and get cobwebs or reach other heights that you could not get to with a normal vacuum. The wand features a quick connect and disconnect to make using the accessories and wand very quick and easy.

Hoover Windtunnel Bagless Canister Recommendations:

Mrs. Clean recommends both the S3755 and the S3765040 models. The power, design and customer satisfaction are all excellent on this vacuum. The main drawback for some may be the price tag, but if you want a vacuum that does the job with high customer satisfaction, this is a great choice.

One other thing worth mentioning about the price difference is the S3755 is an additional $70 (approximately) because it has a brush roll shut off switch for hardwood floors. Also, double check when purchasing to make sure that your model comes with ample attachments; lower price can mean fewer attachments.

Pros:

This cleaner has powerful suction when vacuuming or when using the attachments and is ergonomically designed to make vacuuming easy and comfortable. The controls are right there at your fingertips with quick connect accessories.

The HEPA filters are washable and reusable cutting replacement costs. There are no bags to buy and a 25’ auto rewind cord that easily retracts into the machine for out of sight storage.

Cons:

Not all tools can be stored on board due to lack of space. The brush attachment’s bristles are short and stiff; not optimal for cleaning blinds and the dust bin is rather small and needs to be emptied frequently.

Vacuum will not hold up if dropped or if it falls down the stairs. Before purchasing these models or any vacuum for that matter, check to see if you have an authorized service center in your area and also if filter replacement are available. Hoover in particular, has been sold a few times and this may be an issue.

Review of the Hoover WindTunnel Bagged Canister Vacuum Cleaner

The WindTunnel canister (models S3670 and S367055) are compact and weigh in at about 24 pounds. They feature Hoovers “windtunnel” technology that is also used on all their upright models as well.

Both of these models use HEPA bags which improves air quality over regular bags. Between these HEPA bags and their filtration system, 99.97% of dust and allergens are trapped down to 0.3 microns. This is important information for allergy sufferers.

These Hoover WindTunnel bagged canisters range in price from about $232 from online retailers to $299 directly from Hoover. The WindTunnel canister is backed by a limited three year warranty.

Hoover WindTunnel Bagged Canister Features:

  • WindTunnel Technology
  • Variable Suction Control
  • HEPA Bags
  • Low Profile
  • Quiet Operation
  • 6 foot Hose Swivel

WindTunnel Technology:

This vacuum is not short on power. Ask anyone that owns one and you will find that the WindTunnel does an excellent job sucking up dirt and dust in its path. It’s also designed with three suction channels to stop that annoying scatter of small particles as you approach.

Variable Suction Control:

These vacuums have an electronic suction control adjustment with a LED light that displays the level. This is a great feature because you can turn down the suction for surfaces such as small rugs or upholstery. You can also turn it up for deeper pile carpet or pet hair.

Low Profile:

The 14” brush bar has a low enough profile to get under object that you don’t want to move such as beds and dressers. There is also a headlight for making sure there are no objects hiding that could accidentally get vacuumed up.

Quick Connect:

The Hoover WindTunnel canister has a convenient connect and disconnect system. This makes it really easy to switch tools or go from vacuuming a floor with the brush bar to dusting with the wand. In fact all the features of this model are conveniently placed.

Hoover WindTunnel Bagged Canister Recommendations:

Unfortunately, Mrs Clean does not recommend this model. It is at the higher end price range for a canister but the quality seems to be lacking. The suction power is excellent but the hose, pet attachment and other plastic parts do not seem to hold up under regular use.

People either love or hate these models which seems to indicate inferior workmanship or poor quality control. If I had the choice, I would go with a bagless and purchase the S3825 or S3765-040. These offer just as many features, no bags but better customer satisfaction.

Pros:

Great suction from the WindTunnel technology. No lack of power and a variable speed that gives you just the right amount of suction for each of your tasks.

With the HEPA filter and HEPA bags, this vacuum traps 99.97% of allergens. The Quick Disconnect makes it easy to switch attachments to vacuum and dust many surfaces.

With one step the cord automatically rewinds into the canister. No bending or messy cords to deal with.

Cons:

If there is a problem with the machine, you will need to take it to an “authorized” repair shop. It is best to locate one in your area before needing this service. Make sure that you have one close, find out if there is any cost involved in checking out the unit and ask the repair shop about repair issues and how long it takes them to get replacement parts.

There is only a small compartment for storage and you will only be able to squeeze a couple of tools in.

It could be designed better. The wheels are small so the vacuum won’t go over its own cord. The small wheels also make it harder to turn without flipping. Hose is stiff and dust and dirt seem to get trapped inside the hose causing clogs.

Review of Eureka Heavy Duty Cloth Bag Commercial Upright Vacuum Cleaner

The Heavy Duty Cloth Bag Upright by Eureka, model C2094G, is an upright style vacuum that uses a cloth bag and an inner disposable paper bag to capture dirt and dust.

This model vacuum weighs about 20 pounds, and comes with a 1 year warranty. It is reasonably priced from about $180.

Eureka Heavy Duty Features:

  • Easy open cloth bag
  • Adjustable to pile height
  • Headlight
  • Cord length

Easy Open Cloth Bag:

The C2094G is designed to be simple to change the bag. The zipper in the cloth bag is rear facing; one quick zip is all it takes to have access to the disposable paper bag.

Adjustable to Pile Height:

The C2094G adjusts to many different types of carpeting. It has a dial adjustment on the nozzle of the vacuum that raises or lowers the nozzle. There are 6 different levels, so you’ll be able to get even the plushest pile clean.

Headlight:

Headlights illuminate the area directly in front of the vacuum so you can see the dirt. Not all vacuums have headlights, and this is definitely a bonus feature.

Cord Length:

The vacuum comes with a long 50 foot cord, which is long enough to do most levels of a home or commercial space with maybe only changing the outlet once. When you are finished vacuuming, the cord neatly stores away on 2 cord wraps.

Eureka Heavy Duty Recommendations:

Unless you are in a true commercial setting, Mrs Clean Does not recommend this vacuum. The long cord is nice, but the lack of on board tools and lack of flexibility to handle other floor types is a deal breaker to me. In my opinion, “commercial” and “heavy duty” are just one more marking term, and they don’t necessarily mean that you are getting anything more than any other vacuum- when we all just want something that is well built to start with.

If you are only looking to vacuum large carpeted areas and no stairways, this vacuum might be a good choice. Unfortunately it is not suited for wood floors, and since it has no attachments or accessories it is only a good choice for wide open spaces.

Pros:

This model vacuum is built with a super long cord. 50 feet of cord will reach most of a person’s home, and is long enough to work well in commercial applications as well. Now you can spend your time vacuuming, instead of stopping to search for a new electric outlet.

The vacuum nozzle is encased in a large bumper to protect your furniture from any accidental bumps.

Cons:

The nozzle is too high to get under some furniture. This is definitely a minus, because this vacuum also does not have a hose, wand or any attachments. You are stuck moving the furniture to do a great job vacuuming.

The carpet pile adjustment is a manual dial. This means if you are frequently changing areas of different style carpet, you’ll have to stop what you are doing and manually turn the dial to the appropriate setting. Vacuums that do this function automatically are bigger time savers.

This is a no-frills vacuum! No attachments or accessories mean you are cleaning floor only with this vacuum, you won’t be able to use it for any above the floor cleaning.

Review of Eureka Lightforce 300 Vacuum Cleaner

The Lightforce 300 is an upright style vacuum that uses bagless technology. This model vacuum is a mid- weight vacuum, weighing in at less than 17 pounds.

The vacuum features an easy to empty dirt cup, a turbo nozzle that adjusts to handle many different carpet pile heights.

The Lightforce 300 is priced from about $100, and comes with a 1 year manufacturer’s warranty.

Eureka Lightforce 300 Features:

  • Turbo Nozzle
  • Easy empty dust cup
  • Self-Cleaning Duster
  • Cleaning Accessories

Turbo Nozzle:

The turbo nozzle is a mini nozzle that fits over the end of the vacuum hose. This little gadget allows you to easily clean areas that would otherwise be awkward to vacuum. You’ll find the turbo nozzle perfect for vacuuming stair risers and upholstery.

Easy Empty Dust Cup:

The Lightforce 300 has a dust cup that is designed to be easy to empty and not create a dusty mess when emptying. A simple flick of a lever over a garbage can and the dust cup empties.

Self Cleaning Duster:

Have you ever looked up when vacuuming and noticed an annoying cobweb that you missed while dusting? If this is the case, you’ll appreciate the self cleaning duster that comes with the Lightforce. The duster has a built in spot on the vacuum, pull it out, dust your cobweb, and then place it back in its holder. The suction from the vacuum continually cleans the duster so it is ready to go when you need it.

Additional Accessories:

So you can get your vacuuming chores done as quickly and efficiently as possible the Lightforce 300 comes with a few additional accessories. To reach those hard to reach areas, you can either use the crevice tool or the wand, or both if need be. You also find the combo brush an effective tool for dusting flat surfaces.

Eureka Lightforce 300 Recommendations:

Unfortunately the Lightforce does not have a brush roll that can be shut off. It’s a big deal to me, which is why I’m not going to recommend this model. This means the vacuum is not safe for use on all flooring types. It is best suited for carpeted areas only. If you have floors in your home that are a combination of wood and carpet, this might not be the best choice of a vacuum cleaner for you.

Pros:

The vacuum nozzle adjusts to different carpeting heights. You’ll be able to effectively vacuum and clean the different styles or types of carpeting found in your home.

The vacuum comes with a 15 inch wide nozzle. This is a nice wide nozzle that allows you to complete your vacuuming fast, because it covers a large area in one swoop.

Dust is captured by the self-cleaning duster, and then vacuumed away.

Cons:

A 25 foot long cord just isn’t long enough. In a larger home, you’ll constantly have to stop vacuuming and reposition where you plug the vacuum in.

There are no active edge cleaners on this model. This means you’ll have to clean the edges of your carpet with the wand or hose. This can be a back breaker, and can be time consuming.

Review of the Hoover WindTunnel Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner

The WindTunnel T-Series Bagless Upright has three models to choose from: UH70105, UH70107 and UH70116. These WindTunnels are a fairly lightweight vacuum weighing 15.7 to 16.5 pounds.

The WindTunnel vacuum features Hoover’s cyclone technology which produces a powerful centrifugal force pulling dirt from deep within the carpet. The filtration system is a washable and reusable HEPA filter which separates dirt and dust making the exhausted air cleaner. The vacuum is also bagless, which is another convenient aspect.

The Hoover WindTunnel Bagless upright, models UH70105 and UH70107 are priced from about $67 from online retailers to $99 from Hoover. For model UH70116 the price ranges from $87 online to $129 from Hoover. These models are all backed by a limited 2 year parts and labor warranty from Hoover.

Hoover WindTunnel Bagless Upright Features:

  • Dual Cyclonic Suction
  • HEPA Filtration System
  • 5 Height Adjustments
  • Washable Dust Cup; bagless
  • Lightweight with On Board Tools
  • 27 Foot Cord (models UH70105 & UH70107)
  • 30 Foot Cord (model UH70116)

Cyclonic Technolghy:

The Hoover WindTunnel vacuum has more than enough power to tackle dirt, dust and hair throughout your house. They cyclone technology creates a powerful suction minimizing blow back. This is important if you’ve ever tried to vacuum and chase dust bunnies and dirt around.

HEPA Filter:

This is an important feature to look for on any vacuum, especially for those that suffer with allergies.

A Hoover HEPA filter vacuum cleaner is tested and proven to trap 100 percent of common dust mites, pet allergens, and pollen from the air which is quite impressive. Without a good filtration system, you risk the dirt and dust blowing back out of the machine; especially if the “bag” gets too full. HEPA filters are the way to go.

Lightweight with On Board Tools:

This is a lightweight vacuum that you can easily move from room to room or carry up stairs. The tools that come with these models include: an air powered hand tool, an 8’ stretch hose (12’ on model UH70116), a crevice tool and an upholstery and dust brush. These tools are all conveniently carried on board so that they are handy when and where you need them.

Hoover WindTunnel Bagless Upright Recommendations:

Mrs. Clean recommends these vacuums. They are all powerful and have enough features, tools and attachments to get any job done around the house. They are also very reasonably priced and owners love them. The only thing to consider is if you want the brush bar to turn off. None of these models will do this; you would have to choose the Hoover WindTunnel Rewind Model #UH70130.

Pros:

There are very few complaints when it comes to the power of the WindTunnel. Most owners agree that it has enough suction to not only pick up dust and dirt but to tackle tough pet hair.

These models are bagless and have a washable HEPA filter. This saves not only money on replacements but the time it takes to go to the store and purchase more.

The attachments are all at your fingertips and easy to use. When using the wand, you just press a button and the hose comes out and you are all set to go. The Air-powered hand tool spins and has powerful suction to work on upholstery and pet hair.

Cons:

None of these models have the ability to turn the brush roller off. This is something to consider if you have wood floors although there were no complaints about this lack of feature. Some people complained the vacuum is noisy and also makes strange sounds.

On models UH70105 and UH70107 the cord and the stretch hose could be longer. Hoover addressed this issue with the UH70116 and lengthened the cord from 27 to 30 feet. The stretch hose is also longer in the UH70116. Instead of an 8 foot hose, they have supplied a 12foot hose.

Review of the Hoover WindTunnel P.A.W.S. Bagless Vacuum Cleaner

This Hoover model, T-Series model UH70212, utilizes Hoover’s design and unique tools to deal with the issue of stubborn pet hair.

The PAWS model operates with dual cyclonic technology. It has a washable HEPA filter and a varying height adjustments to move smoothly from carpet to linoleum or wood surfaces.

The primary difference between the PAWS model and other WindTunnel models is the uniquely designed pet upholstery attachment. Its rubber wiper surface attracts and pulls up stubborn pet hair, and in combination with the powerful suction, removes pet hair from upholstery and other surfaces.

The PAWS model ranges in price from about $129 from online retailers to $160 from Hoover and comes with a 2-year warranty.

Hoover WindTunnel PAWS Features:

  • Patented dual cyclonic technology
  • HEPA filtration system
  • Self rewinding cord
  • Dirt cup that replaces bags
  • No scuff bumper

WindTunnel Technology:

With the PAWS model you will have the power of Hoover’s dual cyclonic technology. What this means to you is that the suction power is strong enough to remove debris embedded deep down in the fibers of the carpet. This is an important feature and will even help older carpets give up dirt, sand and debris that other vacuums may leave behind. For those concerned with dust and allergens in the air, Hoover has a washable and reusable HEPA filtration system to leave exhausted air cleaner.

No Scuff Bumper and Rewind Cord:

These are two features that most people do not think of when considering a vacuum, but they are worth some thought. I get upset when a vacuum scuffs up walls from the bumper, it is not easy to get the black marks off. It takes time to either remove the marks or it takes more time being careful so you don’t scuff walls or trim.

Hoover solves the problem with a “no scuff” bumper to make it easier for you to move flawlessly through your work. The cord rewind system also saves time. You step on a pedal and the cord is retracted into the machine. No winding and no bending.

Pet Hair Tool:

The PAWS WindTunnel has a handy air powered hand tool, extension wand and a crevice tool. Those are the standard tools; but with this model you will also get a Pet upholstery tool. This uniquely designed tool removes pet hair using a rubber wiper system. No more having to vacuum over and over trying to get all the pet hair from rugs, carpet and upholstery.

Hoover WindTunnel PAWS Recommendations:

Mrs. Clean recommends this vacuum as it is reasonably priced, has ample power, does an excellent job on pet hair and has many useful features.

The UH70212 has plenty of features for the price such as a headlight, auto rewind cord, pet attachment, on board tools and beater shut off switch. The power on this machine is more than enough to vacuum deep down dirt and together with the attachments, should tackle any job around the house.

This vacuum can remove pet hair on upholstery around the house, and you can also use the attachment in the car if you take your pet for rides.

Pros:

The Hoover PAWS has powerful suction and uses a beater bar to remove dirt deep down in carpets. It also has a “suction only” mode to turn off the beater bar for hardwood floors and linoleum.

This vacuum is a multi-tasker. It is strong enough to pick up pet hair and versatile enough to, vacuum stairs, get in corners and reach ceilings. The tools are stored on board so they are handy.

The auto rewind feature allows one step cord winding eliminating bending and winding the cord.

The PAWS has a folding handle allowing it to store in less space. Great for small closets or easy storage in your coat closet.

This WindTunnel model is a bagless vacuum and has a washable reusable HEPA filter. Saves money and hassles of buying bags and filters.

Cons:

More moving parts and features sometimes can lead to more issues. It is best to purchase these vacuums new and make that the full 2 year warrant is included. You may want to consider an extended warranty if one is offered and ask specifically if the cord auto rewind mechanism is covered under this warranty.

Static in the dirt cup can make debris and pet hair stick to the side of the container. Some find it too disgusting to remove the remaining or stuck dirt and hair by hand. I would suggest using a wet paper towel or buy a special mitt to wipe the inside. This will be an issue with most plastic dirt containers.

The standard dirt cup could be larger because of the need to empty often and you may want a model with a larger dirt container especially if you have multiple pets.

Review of the Hoover WindTunnel Pet Rewind Bagless Vacuum Cleaner

The Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Pet models include UH70100 (not a rewind model), UH70210, UH70211 and UH70215. Hoover specifically added this series to the standard WindTunnel design to address the issue of stubborn pet hair.

The WindTunnel Pet series features dual cyclonic technology, has a washable HEPA filter and five height adjustments. The main difference in the pet model is the specially designed pet upholstery tool. It has what is described as rubber wipers to pull stubborn pet hair off upholstery and the powerful suction will finish the job.

The least expensive model (UH70100) ranges from about $64 from online retailers to $99 from Hoover.

The other models (UH70210, UH70211 and UH70215) range from about $129 from online retailers to $160 for all of these models from Hoover.

Hoover WindTunnel Pet Rewind Features:

  • WindTunnel cyclonic Technology for powerful suction
  • Washable and reusable HEPA filter
  • Bagless – no bags to buy ever
  • Specialized tool for Pet hair removal

Cyclonic Technology:

The WindTunel has the famous patented dual cyclonic technology. It is effective in sucking up dirt that is deep down in the carpet fibers. This is especially helpful to households with children and pets that track in dirt from outdoors.

HEPA Filter:

Hoover uses a HEPA filtration system that traps dust and dirt inside the vacuum making exhausted air cleaner. This filter is washable, reusable and easy to take out and replace. This vacuum is also bagless so no more bags to buy, saving you even more money.

Pet Hair Tool:

These vacuums come standard with an air powered hand tool, 12 inch extension wand and a crevice tool. In addition, the Pet models supply a Pet upholstery tool with a rubber surface. This unique tool pulls pet hair from furniture, carpet and rugs to make stray pet hair a thing of the past.

Hoover WindTunnel Pet Rewind Recommendations:

When considering the pet models, the first thing to consider is your budget and what you are willing to spend. The H70100 is the least expensive model, but it has the fewest options. It weighs only 15.7 pounds for those that want a lightweight vacuum. It does not have the auto cord rewind, no headlight and does not have a folding handle for easy storage. Another serious drawback is that there is no beater brush turn off switch as the other models have. This is a concern for those with wood floors.

There is no question if these machines have enough power and will remove pet hair, that’s for sure. These are fairly inexpensive vacuums and my recommendation is to spend the extra $60 for the added features. The beater bar shut off switch is the clincher for me and all the other extra features are just icing on the cake. I recommend the UH70215 model because it has a 12’ hose (others are 8’).

Pros:

The Hoover WindTunnel is a powerful machine and adjusts for all types of surfaces.

With all the attachments, you will be able to pick up pet hair, vacuum stairs, corners, ceilings and every inch of your home. Saves time and money to have one machine that can do it all.

Comes standard with on board tools that store easily and also has a specially designed pet tool for stubborn hair. You need tools to get the job done and I like them handy so you don’t have to search for them or store them elsewhere.

All models (except the UH70100) have the auto rewind cord. This is really convenient because instead of continual bending to wind the cord up, you just step on a pedal and it retracts neatly into the machine.

All models (except the UH70100) have a folding handle so that it stores easily in a closet. This is great for those with less space or if you want to store it in a coat closet.

Bagless vacuum, no more bags to buy. Saves money, time, and the hassle of running to the store to find the right bag.

Cons:

More moving parts and features can mean more issues. Best to purchase new and make sure it comes with the 2 year warranty. If buying from a store, it may be worth it to purchase and extended warranty and make sure the auto rewind cord mechanism is covered.

All dirt cups seem to have static that makes dirt and pet hair stick to the side. You may have to wet a paper towel or have a special mitt to wipe it out. To some this may be an issue especially when pulling out pet hair.

The dirt cup seems to need to be emptied often and could be larger; which may be a consideration if you have a lot of pet hair or dirt. The good news is, you will see how well this vacuum works.

Review of the Hoover WindTunnel Rewind Bagless Vacuum Cleaner

The Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind has three models to choose from; model numbers UH70110, UH70120 and UH70130.

The Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind is a long name for a fairly simple but effective vacuum. All models feature dual cyclonic action and that is where the name “windtunnel comes from. This is an upright vacuum that has a dirt cup so you don’t have the hassle of replacing bags.

The Windtunnel is a fairly basic model that is lightweight (around 16.5 pounds)so you can take it up stairs and move easily around the house. Although it only weighs 16.5 pounds, don’t let that fool you, this vacuum will provide ample suction and is equipped with a few added convenient features.

Priced from about $99 from online retailers to $129 from Hoover directly. These models come with a 2 year limited warranty.

WindTunnel Rewind Features:

  • Patented dual cyclone WindTunnel technology.
  • HEPA filtration system with a washable and reusable filter
  • 5 height adjustments to move across any floor surface.
  • On board tools include: Turbo Tool, upholstery brush and wand and a motorized brush
  • 27 foot Auto Rewind Cord

WindTunnel Technology:

The WindTunnel is designed to remove deep down dirt that gets embedded in the carpet. Its powerful cyclonic suction minimizes debris from scattering so you will be able to efficiently clean a 13.5 inch wide path. Cyclonic technology features a dirt cup so you can save money and time because there are no more bags to buy.

Hoover HEPA Filtration:

Hoover has a high quality HEPA filtration system that traps dust and debris to leave the exhausted air clean. This filter is easy to remove and rinse so that you can reuse it over and over again. This machine even has a system check indicator that lets you know when the filter needs to be cleaned.

On Board Tools:

Tools are an important part of any vacuum. The WindTunnel comes standard with ample tools to get a variety of jobs done. There is a air powered turbo hand tool, a 12 inch extension wand, a crevice tool and an upholstery and dusting brush. These tools are all stored conveniently on board and, with the 8 foot stretch hose, you will be able to clean stairs, furniture, corners, ceilings and all your nooks and crannies.

WindTunnel Rewind Recommendations:

The WindTunnel T-Series is lightweight, has excellent suction power, and the self rewinding cord is a great feature. This is a great vacuum for the price but there may be some things to consider before buying.

The beater brush does not turn off for hardwood floors on model numbers UH70110 and UH70120. If you have hardwoods, you would really want to choose model number UH70130 where they have addressed this issue. So, for the same price you would get a better all around machine that is safe for hardwoods.

Another consideration is that for about $30 more you can purchase the WindTunnel Pet model. The Pet model has a suction only mode so that by depressing the pedal it will turn off the beater bar and you will be able to easily transition from carpet to hardwood floors. The Pet model is slightly heavier (17.8 lbs) but comes with an extra attachment, a headlight and a collapsible handle for easier storage.

If you only have carpet in your home, the Windtunnel T-Series models UH70110 and UH70120 are still a great buy and are excellent performers. However, if you have hardwoods or laminate you should choose the UH70130 for the same price.

They are all decent vacuums, but I recommend only the rewind UH70130 vacuum because the ability to shut off the beater bar a must-have feature in my opinion- If you have pets and can afford the $30 then I would suggest moving up to the WindTunnel Pet model to better fit your needs.

Pros

This model is powerful and sucks up hidden dirt even in thick carpet. Even though it is powerful, it is actually very quiet, especially for a 12 amp vacuum. The Wind Tunnel Rewind is easily to maneuver and has 5 settings to adjust to all surfaces.

No bags to buy and the filter is washable and reusable. This saves money and time running to the store.

The 27 foot auto rewinding cord may seem like an insignificant feature, but I have experienced many times that my vacuum is put away with the cord hanging loosely for me to rewind. It is so easy to step on a pedal and the cord just retracts into the machine like magic! This is much better than hand winding and bending for the whole length of the cord.

The WindTunnel made changing a belt and cleaning the brush bar easy. You just flip two levers to allow easy access and you are off and running in a breeze.

It’s very affordable with many features and tools.

Cons

The number one drawback is that there is not a brush bar shut off switch on the UH70110 and UH7020 model. This means that the bar will spin on a wood floor. You would want to make sure to adjust the height up for hardwoods if you are concerned with risk of damage to your wood floors or be sure to purchase the UH70130 model that allows a suction only mode.

The dirt cup is not as easy and hassle free as they make it appear. Dirt and hair do not just slide out the canister it tends to cling to the filter and on the inside. You will have to either let some of the dirt cling to the inside or wipe it out with a moist paper towel.

None of the models have a headlight or a full bag indicator and are not self-propelled; features that may or may not be important to you.

Review of the Eureka Commercial Lightweight Upright Vacuum Cleaner

The C2132B is an upright vacuum built for commercial purposes. This vacuum has the unusual feature, for being a commercial vacuum, of not using disposable paper bags.

The Eureka C2132B is lightweight and easy to maneuver. This vacuum weighs about 15 pounds and has a narrow, 12 inch cleaning path and available from about $134 from online retailers, and comes with a 1 year manufacturer’s parts and labor warranty.

Eureka Commercial Lightweight Features:

  • E-Z Kleen Dust Cup
  • Carpet Height Adjustment
  • Bumper
  • Long Power Cord

E-Z Kleen Dust Cup:

One of the features that make this model unique is the E-Z Kleen Dust Cup. The dust cup is made out of clear plastic, so you can see what you are picking up, and how full the dust cup is. Unlike a vacuum with a paper bag, there is no guess work regarding when to change the bag; you’ll be able to see when you need to empty the dust cup.

Carpet Height Adjustment:

The C2132B has a dial on the front of the nozzle to adjust carpet height to the appropriate pile/type of carpet. Because this vacuum has a 4 position carpet height adjustment, you’ll find the C2132B effectively cleans many different styles of carpeting.

Bumper:

Are you worried about bumping into furniture and doing possible damage? You won’t need to be with the C2132B. It has a clear, scuff proof bumper designed to protect furniture and woodwork.

Long Power Cord:

This is worth mentioned because some vacuum’s have ridiculously short power cords. The C2132B has a 30 foot power cord, which means you’ll spend less time looking for or switching outlets, and more time vacuuming.

Eureka Commercial Lightweight Recommendations:

Mrs. Clean does not recommend this model for home use. This is probably a good model for possibly motel/hotel use, where the majority of the floor is carpeted.

Pros:

  • No vacuum bags to change ever.
  • You don’t need any tools to change the vacuum belt.

Cons:

This vacuum is really only designed to pick up dust and dust particles. The owner’s manual states to avoid picking up hard or sharp objects with the vacuum to avoid causing bag tears, hose clogs, or fan blade breakage.

The beater bar cannot be shut off. This vacuum is safe for use on carpeted floors only; it is not safe for use on hard surface floors.

Although this vacuum does not have disposable paper bags, it has a cloth bag. The cloth bag does play an important role in the efficiency of the vacuum cleaner. The cloth bag allows air to move through the cleaner, and traps dirt inside the bag and the dust cup.

When dirt clings to the interior of the cloth bag, air flow is restricted. The cloth bag and the dirt cup will both need to be emptied and the cloth bag shaken clean for maximum performance. This sounds messy and inconvenient, plus you’ll exposure yourself to dirt/dust.
